Chancery found some boxes on the floor that were waiting to be brought out to the compost bin. She decided to try them on…
“Look at me, I’m a robot!”
“And I can even walk!”
(Though the Coke box still had a bottom on it & proved to be a bit slippery)
“I didn’t even fall down!”
“But I think I’ll just stay in one spot…”
Asher – 4.5 years
Chancery – 2.5 years

Chancery: “Asher, let’s sit in the big chair together.”
Asher: “Yes, and then we can put our arms around each other again.”
Chancery: “We have started to really enjoy these photo shoots, haven’t we, Asher?”
Asher: “Well, I’ve figured out that if we get a few good pictures right away, we can go play faster!”
Chancery: “But you like having your picture taken with me, right?”
Asher: “Sure I do, Chancery.”
Chancery: “I’m glad you’re my friend, Asher.”
It’s time for another season of So You Think You Can Dance. They are getting better & better every year!
HAPPY FRIDAY!
Asher was sitting at the table eating his afternoon snack. I was in the kitchen making a latte, & I started yawning, & yawning. Between yawns, I asked, “Why am I so tired, Asher?”
Asher: “Probably because you didn’t have a sleep at naptime.”
Me: “Maybe.”
Asher: “You should have slept, Mummy, because if you don’t get enough sleep, you will be grumpy when you wake up in the morning.”
Me: “Do you think so?”
Asher: “Yes.”
Me: “Well, maybe I’ll just have some coffee. Do you think that will help?”
Asher: “No.”
Me: “Well, why not?”
Asher: “Because I don’t think it has those chemicals in it that you think it does.”
I had explained to him a few days before about caffeine & how it helps you to stay awake. I guess he had been paying more attention than I thought!
Was he trying to tell me that PChad had switched my coffee to decaf?
A few weeks ago, there was a childcare course being held at the local highschool. They were looking for kids to watch, & one of the students participating in the course asked if I’d like to bring Chancery. Of course I jumped at the chance for free daycare for two weeks. Chancery had a great time, & constantly talked about going to school with the big kids. On Friday she had a graduation party at the school. I never thought she would have a graduation before Asher, but it was a cute little program, & there were cupcakes!
The graduation caps weren’t cooperating very well…
Chancery made a picture frame for a class photo,
& even got a diploma!
At this point I hadn’t told her that she was done going to school. She was a bit upset that she’ll have to wait a whole year yet!
Asher – 4.5 years
Chancery – 2.5 years

Chancery: “Do you have a ball like I have a ball, Asher?”
Asher: “Yes I do, Chancery! Would you like to have mine too?”
Chancery: “Thanks! Asher gave me his ball, Mummy!”
Asher: “That’s because you are my friend, Chancery!”
Chancery: “And you are MY friend too, Asher!”
Asher: “See, Mum, we CAN get along sometimes!”
Chancery: “That’s because we LOVE each other!”
“Fast & Loose” is a sketch comedy show in England, similar to “Whose Line Is It Anyway”. They have a segment called “Interpretive Dance” where an actor has to mime a pop song. This is one of the best ones. Enjoy!

The kids have a blanket fort that they have been using to hide in. Apparently Thanet wanted to get in on the game…
When the kids were sleeping the other day, this is where we found him.
But when he was found, he tried to act like it was no big deal.
He was probably just looking for a place to hide from this bunch!
Friday evening we took the kids to see some puppies at a friends’ house.
The kids were in heaven that there were dogs small enough to haul around!
And of course the puppies were quite curious about us as well…
Chancery was a bit more timid, letting the puppies just crawl on her for the majority of the time.
Asher, on the other hand, was more likely to take them hostage!
There were 7 puppies, so there were more than enough puppies to go around.
At one point Chancery tried to flee the scene…
…and she was successful in her escape!
So the puppy went to sit by PChad instead.
Asher didn’t seem content to have only ONE puppy, he wanted them ALL to be by him!
While Chancery wasn’t so sure about being outnumbered.
We ended up with some pretty exhausted puppies!
Asher – 4.5 years

Asher: “Come here, Chancery. I want to put my arm around you!”
Asher: “I just want us to be buddies in the picture!”
Chancery: “Well, why didn’t you say so?”
Chancery: “I love you, Asher.”
Asher: “I love you too, and your hair looks really nice today!”
Chancery: “Thank you, Asher! Your hair looks pretty cool too!”
Chancery was eating a slice of watermelon today, & she told me all about where water comes from. And in case you are curious as well, I thought I’d share this little gem with you…
“Water comes out of the watermelons, and then it goes into fountains, and THEN it gets into streams and rivers, and then we can drink it!”

I love that spring’s warmer weather is bringing more opportunities to be outside & enjoy some of the simpler things, like spinning on a tire swing!
