Chancery: “Ok, I’m here now… is Asher coming?”
Asher: “Yes, yes. I was just looking for something to have in the pictures.”
Chancery: “I’d like a kitten.”
Asher: “Remember we had a kitten, Chancery? And he wasn’t very nice.”
Chancery: “But maybe if we got another one, it would be nice!”
If this doesn’t put a smile on your face, then you should watch it TWICE!

When my Aunt & Uncle & parents were all here, we took a Saturday to explore the Eastern end of the island. We started by heading to Greenwich, the iconic boardwalk-over-the-marsh-on-the-way-to-the-beach part of the island.
The kids & I head out here about 4 times over the course of the summer. We love it!
We found this colourful salamander on the path!
We then drove further to East Point lighthouse. As the name implies, it is on the most Eastern tip of PEI.
Then we drove some more & found another lighthouse at Naufrage, & we found our hole again!
I can’t believe I just happened to be wearing the same shirt, in the same hole, 2 years later!
Then Asher & Chancery decided to play around a bit…
What happend to your legs, Chancery?
The kids love going to McDonald’s for breakfast, but if we mention going to the Preserve Company, they always choose to go there. We can easily spend the whole morning roaming the grounds & trying to burn off all the pancakes we consumed! Every time we have guests come & stay with us, we always take them there too.

Chancery: “Oh no! The bridge is out! My train is going to crash!”
Asher: “I fixed the bridge, just tin time for you, Chancery!”
Chancery: “Playing trains together is fun!”

Chancery: “I don’t know where that brother of mine is! He should know that we do this every Sunday!”
Asher: “Here I am!”
Asher: “I was just getting my transformer toy.”
Chancery: “I think everyone out there has already seen your transformers, Asher.”
Asher: “Then I’ll have to think of something else for next week’s pictures!”
I posted about the first day of school last week, but I did not post all the pictures…
This was me on the first day of school!
And the kids both got to ride the bus home, which made a good day even better!

Asher: “Models sometimes work with props, like this hat!”
Chancery: “You’re doing a great job, Asher!”
Asher: “We could be in a Sears catalogue, Chancery!”
Chancery: “Show me the money!”
Asher: “We take cash, or cheques. Sorry, no credit cards.”
Chancery is starting French Immersion Kindergarten today, & Asher starts grade 2 at the French school!
They are very excited about school. Chancery woke up this morning at 6:30 & asked if she could get ready for school.
Asher on the other hand, slept in & had to be woken up. When he awoke, he jumped out of bed & asked, “What time does the bus come?” I told him that PChad would take him to school today since it’s a new school & he has a lot of supplies to take with him, but he could take the bus home. Asher was a bit disappointed, but he began bargaining for taking the bus tomorrow!
This is my first year with both kids gone all day. What will I do with all my free time?

Asher: “Perhaps your sister is touching you, & you just don’t like it.”
Chancery: “Just try to remember that other people aren’t always trying to make you miserable!”
Asher: “Maybe she’s just trying to give you a hug!”

Asher: “I have some pictures that I coloured!”
Chancery: “And I have the ‘Swan Princess’ book!”
Asher: “Here is a picture of Mario with Sonic the Hedgehog, isn’t that awesome?”
Chancery: “I can’t believe it, Asher! Your pictures are amazing!”
Asher: “Thanks, Chancery! That makes me feel good!”
Before the Birthday Celebration, & the Birthday Present Day, there was the Pre-Birthday Celebration!
Since we were in Alberta 2 weeks before Chancery’s birthday, & we rarely get to see our extended family for birthdays, we had cake one night after dinner to celebrate Chancery’s birthday together.
She was very excited about the balloons on her cake, & even took them home to PEI with us!
Chancery got a birthday card from Grandpa & Grandma, & she was extremely pleased to hear that she was allowed to buy her own present once she got back home. It was all I could do to make her wait until we had her present opening day before she went to the store. But she did talk me into some pre-purchase browsing. She knew exactly what she was going to buy well before she went shopping!
We had stopped by the Helen Schuler Nature Centre a few times during our stay in Lethbridge, because the kids really wanted to hold Sophie the Snake. Unfortunately every time we stopped happened to be on feeding days. So, we decided to try once more before our trip was over.
Asher was not a fan of the song playing on the radio on the way there.
Yay! We finally get to hold Sophie!
No, we’re not getting one as a pet.
Chancery was just as excited to hold Sophie, but she kept trying to get Sophie to kiss her nose!
Mission accomplished!
