Stubborn As A Mule

For the past month Asher has been sick off & on. He has started to play on this theme as well.

"I need to have juice & not milk because I'm sick!"

"I can't put my toys away, I'm not feeling very well."

Mealtime is no exception. He has taken to not eating. No bribe works, he simply says he's not feeling very well & can't eat whatever happens to be in front of him (No problems at snack time, however).

The other morning he looked at his oatmeal for 1/2 an hour without so much as tasting it. I finally had to feed it to him & then he reluctantly ate it. At dinnertime PChad said that we shouldn't have to feed his food to him & he sat for 2 hours until his small portion of chicken & rice was finished. At lunch he asked for peanut butter & honey & then refused to eat it until PChad helped put it in his mouth.

So we're up against a stubborn streak & don't know if we should make him sit 'til he eats by himself, or if we should assist in the feeding at some point. But at least he doesn't have many tantrums!

  1. I would make him sit. I have done that many times while babysitting. So that is my input on the situation.
