Chancery is wearing her fleece since she is cold, & hiding in her fort.
But she wants you to take note of her pretty toes.
“I’ve never looked prettier!” she told me.
Asher was also cold, so he’s wearing his fleece as well. He’s also locked himself away with a book until his grumpy attitude passes.
A Lego book seems to be the cure!

Asher: “Because we love him!”
If the Olympics were all like this, I would probably be more likely to watch… I wonder if they still do things like this?

We found Asher & Thanet enjoying a relaxing afternoon awhile back.
Asher was on his DS, ‘petting’ Thanet with his feet.
Both seemed to be enjoying the other’s company. It doesn’t happen often!

Chancery: “I am a bit cold since the windows are all open.”
Asher: “I will read you a story about a warm place, maybe that will help.”
Chancery: “I don’t think so, Asher!”
Asher: “Then what will we do, Chancery?”
Chancery: “We’ll sit here until Mummy says we are done…”
Chancery: “and then we’ll go get our snuggies, Asher!”
Even monkeys need to cool off on hot days…

The kids & I met up with some friends at a park last week. They don’t live in town, so we don’t see them all that often, & it seemed the kids needed to learn how to play nicely together without creating problems for each other.
At one point Chancery came over to JJ & I & reported, “The boys are not playing nicely! They are playing pirates, & we are playing kitties, & it’s not working!”
It was clear to see that those two games would not work out well, as JJ pointed out, “Of course not! Pirates usually have parrots, not kitties!”

Asher: “Did everyone notice what is sitting beside me on the couch?”
Asher: “It’s a book about Lego stuff!”
Asher: “It’s a bit like a normal book, but all the pictures are Lego!”
Chancery: “Asher read a few of the stories to me in the car yesterday, but I wasn’t listening very well because I was pretty tired, so I was singing to stay awake.”
Asher: “She sings some funny songs when she’s tired!”
Remakes are never as good as the originals, but this music video is pretty clever!

I had put Chancery to bed for her nap, & after about 10 minutes of ‘barking’ from her room, I went up to investigate. She knows she is not supposed to be loud, but to sleep, so since her stuffed puppy Ginger seemed to be such a distraction, I took it away from her.
After I took Ginger away, I went into the washroom. I could hear Chancery calling out to me in distress
“Mummy! Did you put Ginger in the toilet?”
I’m a pretty strict Mum, but I wouldn’t go that far!
And no creepy talking mannequins! I used to be quite a big fan of New Kids on the Block, so after seeing this ad, I just had to share it!

We had cake after dinner, Asher had asked for a train cake, but the only one I could find was Thomas. I figured he was a bit old for that, so I chose a Transformers one instead. But just before we had cake he told me he wanted a Spiderman cake, so I don’t think it mattered either way.
On this little island, there are quite a few foods that we can’t get. I am used to it a bit, since moving from the States, & having lived in England for awhile, there are certain foods that we have grown attached to, but are simply not available in Canada. However, there are numerous things that we have discovered which seem to be in other parts of Canada, just not on PEI.
My friend Natasha told me earlier in the week that she had found Golden Grahams at one of the grocery stores, so after dropping Asher off at school, Chancery & I stopped to pick up a box, since it is one of PChad’s favourite cereals.
I parked the car, & got out. I opened Chancery’s door, & started to unbuckle her seatbelt when she started yelling at me, “No, I don’t want to go in there! This is the store with the yucky food!”
A few months ago, I had bought a package of pitas which had a huge mouldy spot on them, & apparently Chancery remembered the incident, & thought all the food in the store was of the same quality.
“We are just here to get some cereal,” I told her. “The cereal here is good! They have Golden Grahams!”
“Just the bread is yucky?” she asked.
I don’t think she will ever be willing to buy a loaf of bread from that particular store…

Asher: “And I got a Spiderman watch for my birthday!”
Chancery: “He also got a camera!”
Chancery: “So he can take a funny face picture of Mummy and I!”
Chancery: “Wasn’t that fun, Mummy?”
