 Asher: "Your skunk is stinky!"

Chancery: "No it's not!  My skunk is fluffy!"

Asher: "Her skunk does have a nice, soft, fluffy tail!"

Asher: "Tell your skunk to stop stinking up the place!"

Chancery: "Maybe it was Digby!"

Asher: "I suppose it could be!"

Digby: I get blamed for everything!

Age Gap

Asher & Chancery were talking about being teenagers, & adults, & where you make the different distinctions...

C: "I'm almost a teenager."

A: "No, you have to be 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, or 19 to be a teenager."

C: "Yeah, & when you are 20 you become a parent."

Me: "You can become a parent at any age.  You become a parent when you have a kid, not when you turn a certain age."

A: "When you are 20 you are a young lady, or a young man, & when you are 30, you are just a lady, or man."

Me: "Do you think I am a young lady, or a lady?"

A: "You are a parent!"

C: "Yeah, you're a mum!"

I guess being a parent sweeps you out of the other categories!

Oh Yeah, We're Moving!

I realized after my last post that I had not mentioned on the blog that we are moving!  In the last month there has been a lot going on!  PChad received a job offer from a church in British Columbia, & after a lot of prayer & consideration, we decided that is where God is calling us to be.  An added perk of moving is that we will be closer to both of our families, & only about an hour from my extended family!  I can see it now, dropping the kids off at Grandpa & Grandma's house, & saying, "Good luck, we'll see you in a week!"

So, we are busy getting moving quotes, getting our house cleaned up & put on the market, entertaining the kids now that school is over, singing the kids up for their new school in BC, etc, etc.  We are planning on leaving in about a month, & driving across the States, visiting family along the way.  We want to make it a fun vacation for the family, & make lots of memories.  Hopefully those memories will be good ones, not ones filled with arguing about legroom & who touched whom!

So, please pray for us in this next couple of weeks/months that we get all the things done that need to be done, & that we also have a chance to enjoy a bit of summer here in PEI before we leave.

A Farewell to my Fellow Needle Nuts

Last week I got together with the ladies I meet with monthly for an afternoon of Cross-Stitch.

Normally we stop meeting over the summer & go to a play instead, but this time we decided to meet one last time, then go out to dinner afterwards.

I have spent many hours with these ladies, & gotten a lot of helpful advice on how to make proper French Knots (I will master them one day!).  I will miss them all very much.

Fortunately, one of the ladies lives in BC most of the year, not far from where we are moving to, so perhaps we will be able to meet up for an afternoon of stitching at some point!

Asher: "I got a Simon Swipe for my birthday!"

Chancery: "And I got a frog from the treasure box at his party!"

Asher: "Why are you not letting me point to your frog, Chancery?"

Chancery: "I just don't want you to."

Asher: "Why are you taking pictures of us arguing?"

Chancery: "If we don't argue, she can't take arguing pictures!"

Last Day of Grade 3 & 1!

Today is the kids' last day of school!  Their day will be filled with not just the regular "See you next year!" goodbyes, but also "So long, farewell" goodbyes (but in French of course)

Grade 3 & Grade 1 complete, now for the next adventure!

Last day of school compared to first day of school.
They've grown a little, but are still just as crazy!

Asher Turns 9! (Part 2)

The second part of Asher's birthday celebration was going to a restaurant of his choice & he asked 2 of his friends from school to join us.  Asher as usual, chose the Pizza Delight Jail!

It was pyjama day at school, so Asher was still in his PJs when we went to supper!

He was excited to have his friends join us, & they had a great time together.  Since they all go the French school, but a few of us don't speak French, there was some discussion about which language they should communicate in.

It was decided that since they were Asher's French friends, French would be ok!

One of the boys gave Asher a 'Simon' toy, so we were entertained after dinner while we waited for everyone to finish eating.

Asher Turns 9! (part 1)

Due to a hectic weekend schedule, we celebrated Asher's birthday a little early.

Asher had asked for an ice cream cake, so Chancery & I went to DQ to pick one out.  I was too late for a good photo of it, but Chancery picked one that looked like a watermelon with some large ants on it.

Asher made a birthday list of things he'd like...

He was quite pleased to have his first 3DS game!

And it's a Mario game!

Grandma got Asher a giant Mad Libs book!
(he's been asking us for ad-JEC-tives all morning long)

Asher likes watching PChad play Zelda, so a Zelda book seemed like a good gift

And the final gift...

"I think this is from Grandma Toots.  She always buys me big Lego!"

"Happiest picture ever!"

Chancery: "Well, he's late, so Digby took his spot."

Asher: "I was just getting a Lego creation to show everyone!"

Chancery: "Do you think Yumi Bear can go for a ride on your Lego car?"

Asher: "No, but the Lego car can push Yumi Bear's chair!"
