Well, after 13 years of trying, I have finally completed all the forms, paid all the fees, & passed all the tests! I am a Canadian Citizen!
Watch out, Cuba, here I come!

Last week, Asher came home from school without his sweater. He told me, “I left it on the playground because it was wet! I figured I could pick it up at second recess, but it was second recess, so I didn’t get to go out there & get it.”
I asked PChad if he could swing by the school & check the playground to see if the sweater was still there. He came home saying he hadn’t seen Asher’s sweater, but had picked up a little girls’ brown vest that he had found.
This morning I asked Asher, “Could you bring this vest to the school’s lost & found? You can either put it in your backpack, or carry it in your arms.”
Asher responded, “Can you put it in my backpack for me? Otherwise people might think the girls’ vest is for me, & I don’t wear girls’ clothes!”

Chancery: “Asher, you do know that Russell is a dog, and not a cat, right?”
Asher: “But there are pictures of dogs in my magazines well, Chancery!”
Chancery: “But that’s a cat, Asher!”
Asher: “That’s because it’s a double magazine, it has cats and dogs!”

Asher: “I wanted to show you my colouring that I did at school.”
Asher: “I’ll move it so you can see my nice clothes.”
Asher: “Don’t forget the back of my shirt. It’s pretty awesome that it has a number on it!”
Chancery: “Here’s the back of my shirt too!”
Asher: “Can we go play now, Mum?”
Here's a fun music video from the David Crowder Band. I wonder how long it took to shoot this?
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!
When we were on our trip in Newfoundland, Asher left his Nintendo DS cord at one of the cottages we had stayed in. When I called the place to ask if they could ship it to us, they informed me that it would cost about $20 to ship & advised me to just get a new cord. So, I went on eBay & ordered a new cord, but since it was being sent from the States, it had to clear customs. After about 2 weeks without a cord, Asher wrote this note to the mailman…
“Mum ordered a DS cord (Nintendo DS cord) Pleeeeeeease can we have it? -Asher and Mum- (What’s your name anyway???)”
Chancery’s pre-K class is going over the letter ‘E’ this week. Yesterday her class was reading a book called “Enormous Elephant”.
The teacher asked, “Does anyone know what ‘enormous’ means?”
Chancery: “I do!”
Miss T: “What does ‘enormous’ mean, Chancery?”
Chancery: “Gigantic!”
Miss T: “Yes, and what does ‘gigantic’ mean?”
Chancery: “Enormous!”

Asher: “Do you want to be models today, Chancery?”
Chancery: “Ok!”
Chancery: “How am I doing, Asher?”
Asher: “I think you did a marvellous job, Chancery!”
I know, I know, I’m 2 months late with this post, but I still wanted to document Chancery’s birthday. PChad’s sister came with her family on Chancery’s birthday, & then we had 6 weeks of company, so it was a bit hectic here for awhile!
We decided to open presents before we went to the airport to get the cousins, Chancery had quite a good time opening her gifts. Apparently she thought everything had to be held aloft for the pictures…
Yumi gave Chancery a fairy tent!
And Chancery also got a Tinkerbell book for her Tag reading system. She has really enjoyed reading her new fairy book.
After picking up the cousins, it was cake time! So far Chancery has loved being four, but keeps telling us all the things she will do when she’s older. “Can I do that when I’m older, like when I’m 8, or 88?” is a common question around here!
Asher has been in a note writing phase for a few months now. He will disappear in his room, & then emerge with a note, or sometimes a “book”, which consists of 3 pieces of paper, stapled with 3 staples (must not deviate from that!).
One Sunday morning in July, he came down & handed me this gem:
That just about sums it up…

Asher: “Can you find this word, Chancery?”
Chancery: “I’m trying to help Asher with his word search, but it’s hard because it’s in French.”
Asher: “After we’re done, I’m going to read the book called The Three Little Wolves, & The Big, Bad Pig. It’s really funny!
Chancery: “Did you get a good picture of my curly hair? I want everyone to see it!”
I rarely watch the news, but if this kind of thing happened more often, I just might!

On our way back home from Newfoundland, we decided to take the Cabot Trail. PChad had been on it a few times on his motorcycle, but the rest of us had never been!
The first stop we made was at Mary Ann Falls,
where there was a lot of jumping & sliding to be done.
We explored down the river a bit too, & the water was a little chilly!
Once again, we did quite a bit of driving, leading to some sleepy travellers.
We headed up to Meat Cove for a scenic lunch, but the restaurant was closed, so we had lunch from a food stand instead.
We did a few small hikes with the kids along the trail. Definitely a place to come back to when the kids are a bit older & ready for some longer hikes as well!
After dinner the other night, the kids were preparing to watch some TV. Chancery was helping PChad with the popcorn, & Asher went into the TV room. He came back out holding my large bag of Hot Tamales & announced, “I found candy! I found a big bag of candy!”
PChad: “Those are Mummy’s.”
Me: “Oops, I guess I forgot to put them away the other day, but you can put them in the candy drawer for me.”
Asher went back into the TV room…
He came to the doorway, his eyes were opened wide with wonderment…
Asher: “And a PLATE! …WAS SOMEONE EATING IN HERE?? Did someone eat a SANDWICH in here?”
I guess we’ve got him so well trained, that it boggles his mind that someone would dare to eat in the TV room!
