Cousins
Asher: "This one is for Paige. I have a cousin named Paige, but this is a different girl named Paige."
Chancery: "It that for my cousin named Paige?"
Asher: "No, your cousins and my cousins are the same people."
Chancery: "Oh. I have lots of cousins, do you, Asher?"
Asher: "Yes!"
Chancery: "What are my cousins' names, Mummy?"
So, I listed off the cousins' names for the kids. I got to the end, & Chancery thought for a bit.
Chancery: "I have a cousin named Noah?"
Me: "Yes, you do."
Chancery: "Like the man who drove the boat?"
Me: "Yes, just like the man who built the ark."
Chancery: "And he drove it!"

Out Sick
Asher’s teacher was out sick last week, & he told us Monday morning, “I hope my teacher is feeling better today. She was sick on Friday. I think she got a sore throat from yelling at us too much.”
We told him that if she was back at school, he should make sure that he’s obeying the class rules so she doesn’t get sick again.
Asher: “Yes, because the substitute didn’t know that I get pizza on Fridays.”
Apparently that is what can make you a good sub or a bad sub…

Chancery: “Asher, are you coming?”
Asher: “Yes, here I am!”
Asher: “I just had to get my V.I.P. card.”
Asher: “It helps me get cool things like, cars…”
Chancery: “You’re not old enough to drive a car, Asher!”
Asher: “No, I meant toy cars!”
Asher: “Like this one!”
Chancery: “You got that car just from having a V.I.P. card?”
Asher: “No, I actually got it in my Happy Meal from McDonald’s…”

The Best Part
…of the Superbowl is the commercials. I’m not sure why, but a lot of them seem to be online. It’s good for me, that way I don’t have to sit through hours of football to see them!
Here are a few of my favourites…

Following Instructions
Lately we’ve been having a bit of trouble with Chancery at nap time. Apparently her stuffed dog “Ginger” has a bit of a talking issue, & talks & talks & talks, keeping her awake for most of her nap (suspicious, no?)
So, as I put her down for nap yesterday, I warned her not to talk, & then I warned Ginger, that if she was caught talking, I’d take her away & put her in the closet.
Chancery took a nice, long quite nap. When she awoke, she proudly announced, “I was so quiet, & I didn’t talk at all! I didn’t tell you that my pants leaked & my bed is all wet!”
Me: “Was your bed wet for a long time, or a little bit of time?”
Chancery: “My bed was wet the longest time ever!”
Awesome. I guess I’ll have to be more specific in my instructions from now on, & add that if she has issues with her pants, that she is allowed to voice them.
