HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
My parents had never been to the PEI Preserve Company, so we figured, even thought the weather was a bit cool, we had to take them.
We started with the traditional Pipe & Drum photo…
followed by the obligatory rock photo.
We discovered that the restaurant had switched to fall hours, & opened later, so we took our walk around the grounds before breakfast.
We started with a swing in the hammock…
followed by a restful gaze at the river.
It was a very chilly morning, but it was a good way to work up an appetite!
Breakfast was once again, delicious!
Since PChad’s & my parents all live far away, we have fill-in grandparents for the kids. We often spend a morning out at Mr. Harrie & Miss Geesje’s farm, & the kids love seeing all the cows & cats, & getting to run around in the yard.
When my parents were here, we thought it would be nice for the two families to meet each other, so we spent another wonderful morning out at the farm!
We enjoyed a few cups of coffee, & then got a grand tour of the grounds.
We consider ourselves fortunate to have such a wonderful family in our church who is willing to let us visit so often!
(and Grandpa, but he was taking pictures)
One sunny afternoon, the kids spent some time outside with Grandpa & Grandma.
They enjoyed some snacks at the mini picnic table…
and went for a little drive.
After that, there was some tree climbing
(which Grandpa & Grandma just watched)
Then Grandma read some books outside!
We really enjoyed spending time with my parents & I know the kids had a great time too. We wish we could see them more often, but we pack in as much as we can when do get together!

Chancery: “Ginger is going to meet a snake!”
Asher: “It’s ok, it’s a friendly snake!”
Chancery: “Well, Ginger is a little bit afraid that the snake will bite her.”
Asher: “There’s nothing to be afraid of. See, it doesn’t bite!”
Chancery: “That’s amazing, Asher!”
Asher: “It really is a very friendly snake!”
Asher: “Say hello to Mummy, snake!”
Herding cattle can be a lot of fun! But I’m not sure this would work for very long. Eventually the cattle would probably stomp on the car…
HAPPY FRIDAY!
On our way back from the East Point lighthouse, we stopped at the Shipwreck lighthouse.
There wasn’t much to see at the lighthouse itself, since it’s not one that’s open to the public, but we walked around a bit & enjoyed some nature.
I found a nice place to sit, & was soon joined by Chancery…
Though it looked odd from afar, it really was quite comfy!
It was nice to be able to enjoy another nice day in PEI with my parents!

Asher: “Chancery is feeling a bit grumpy this morning.”
Chancery: “Don’t touch me!”
Asher: “But when someone gives you a hug, it lets you know that they love you, & I love you, Chancery!”
Chancery: “You’re right, Asher! Thanks for the hug!”
I’d like to start out this post by admitting that I am a negligent parent. It didn’t occur to me on the first two days of school to take Asher’s “first day of school” pictures. It did occur to me on the third day of school, but it was raining. On the forth day of school, we were running late.
Week two began, & I thought, I’ll take a “first Monday of school” picture… I forgot. So, day 6, I finally remembered.
I told Asher to stand on the step & smile… The sun was in his eyes.
Here we go.
Then Chancery joined us…
…and got in on the crazy action.
Asher is loving school. He’s in French immersion this year, since he’s already reading at a second grade level, we figured he needed a bit of a challenge. So far in six days, he’s worn his inside shoes home twice. We’re working on remembering things…
Chancery & I dropped Asher off at school this morning. Last week was his first week of school, but Chancery & I were so busy going here & there that she didn’t really have much of a chance to miss having him around. As soon as we got back to the car, Chancery turned to me & asked, “Can we go & wait for him now?”
“Go & wait for who?” I asked.
“Asher… on the hill!” she replied.
I finally figured out she wanted to go right home & wait at the bus stop for Asher to come home. I guess she might be starting to miss him a bit…

Asher: “Today we are going to use these puzzle pieces to explain something.”
Chancery: “What are we explaining, Asher?”
Asher: “I’m glad you asked, Chancery!”
Asher: “I have a jet plane here, to show everyone that Grandpa & Grandma are coming to visit us!”
Chancery: “That’s right, Asher!”
Chancery: “And we are so very excited!”
