The kids have a blanket fort that they have been using to hide in. Apparently Thanet wanted to get in on the game…
When the kids were sleeping the other day, this is where we found him.
But when he was found, he tried to act like it was no big deal.
He was probably just looking for a place to hide from this bunch!
Friday evening we took the kids to see some puppies at a friends’ house.
The kids were in heaven that there were dogs small enough to haul around!
And of course the puppies were quite curious about us as well…
Chancery was a bit more timid, letting the puppies just crawl on her for the majority of the time.
Asher, on the other hand, was more likely to take them hostage!
There were 7 puppies, so there were more than enough puppies to go around.
At one point Chancery tried to flee the scene…
…and she was successful in her escape!
So the puppy went to sit by PChad instead.
Asher didn’t seem content to have only ONE puppy, he wanted them ALL to be by him!
While Chancery wasn’t so sure about being outnumbered.
We ended up with some pretty exhausted puppies!

Asher: “Come here, Chancery. I want to put my arm around you!”
Asher: “I just want us to be buddies in the picture!”
Chancery: “Well, why didn’t you say so?”
Chancery: “I love you, Asher.”
Asher: “I love you too, and your hair looks really nice today!”
Chancery: “Thank you, Asher! Your hair looks pretty cool too!”
Chancery was eating a slice of watermelon today, & she told me all about where water comes from. And in case you are curious as well, I thought I’d share this little gem with you…
“Water comes out of the watermelons, and then it goes into fountains, and THEN it gets into streams and rivers, and then we can drink it!”

I love that spring’s warmer weather is bringing more opportunities to be outside & enjoy some of the simpler things, like spinning on a tire swing!
After all the fun we had in the barn at the farm, it was time to hit the swings…
“We’re ready! Can we have a push?”
Asher: “Hey, Mum, look at what I can do!”
Asher: “Don’t I look funny?”
For the most part, they really like to play together. I think it’s really nice that they get along so well (most of the time).
And Asher is always trying to teach Chancery something new…
Asher asks me almost everyday, “If we aren’t doing anything tomorrow, can we call Miss Geesje & ask if we can go to her house?” The kids love being on the farm. I guess the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree!

Chancery: “Today Asher has some paper airplanes that he made with Yumi.”
Asher: “And I’m going to demonstrate how to fly them.”
Chancery: “Oh that sounds exciting, Asher!”
Chancery: “Watch out! They are going to crash!”
Chancery: “They are headed right for you, Asher!”
Chancery: “Hooray! They are saved!”
Asher: “And that is how they fly!”
I do love a good flash mob! Once again, a phone company uses one to make a stellar commercial…
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!
This morning we went out to visit our friends Mr. Harrie & Miss Geesje on the farm. After a few cups of coffee it was time to visit the cows & explore the yard.
We started out with Asher showing us where the barn was.
Inside the barn, there was much excitement, more on the children’s part, than on the cows…
Chancery tried, & failed to engage the heifers.
But the calves were a bit TOO interested in her fingers…
So, I distracted them with MY fingers (taking one for the team), so she could pet the calf.
After seeing all the cows, it was time to RUN AROUND!

I seem to have TWO monkeys on my hands!
Asher’s school had a Mother’s Day tea a few weeks ago, & both he & I were both feeling a bit under the weather, so he held a mini concert in our home a few days later. When I say mini concert, I mean he refused to sing more than one song, but hey, I’ll take what I can get.
He looks SO happy about singing the song, doesn’t he?
Asher was colouring at the table the other day & he suddenly began talking about growing…
Asher: “I grow in the night time, you know.”
Me: “Every night, or just some nights?”
Asher: “Just some nights.”
Me: “Hmmm. Did you grow last night.”
Asher: “Yes.”
Me: “How do you know?”
When questioned about it, he didn’t seem so sure anymore…
Asher: “I only thought I did.”
After Chancery got up from her nap, she found Thanet sitting in a chair & figured he’d like a book read to him. Luckily there was one nearby, & she fulfilled his request. Sadly, he didn’t seem all that interested in her choice of books…
